            There is nothing sane about attending a rally in DC with 150,000 other people, many with signs, lots in costume.

It's even less sane to do it with your strollers and your bicycles.

And it's even less sane to do it with your dogs.  Today, my daughter watched, and I heard (and saw the aftermath), a tiny pocket dog fall off a ten-foot high wall to what should have been his death but was instead his squealing painful misery.  I feel sorry for the desperate woman who had to wade through the crowd for who-knows-how-long only to get to who knows where to find someone who could put her dog to sleep, if it didn't die of pain before then.  

Of course I, who can't watch things happen to dogs on TV, even when it's fiction, cried for twenty minutes.
