Peace Doves - Sheffield Cathedral, November 2022

            There were two major installations in Sheffield Cathedral to mark Remembrance in November 2022. The first were the Peace Doves, a large-scale art installation representing the community of Sheffield. It was created by sculptor/artist Peter Walker and composer David Harper, and featured several thousand paper doves suspended above the nave of the Cathedral. Schools across Sheffield and South Yorkshire contributed, as did community groups, wellbeing groups, and the general public, decorating the doves that form the artwork with messages of peace, love, and hope - creating a unique piece that reflected the thoughts and feelings of local people from all faiths, ages, and backgrounds. The second installation was the Remembrance display.  Thursday 3rd November 2022.
