Ñen-winkul

            Según las historias del pueblo Mapuche, luego de la batalla entre los antiguos pillanes, las fuerzas y entidades de la naturaleza fueron entregados al cuidado de los Ngen para controlar la armonía en la Ñuke Mapu. Ellos pueden tomar diversas formas, como los protectores de las montañas, o Ñen-winkul, quienes a veces pueden verse como nubes rodeando sus cumbres, vigilando a los visitantes que vienen a sus dominios.

According to the stories of the Mapuche folk, after the great battle between the ancient "pillanes", the forces and entities of nature were given to the "Ngen" (guardian spirits) to preserve and control the harmony at "Ñuke-mapu" (mother earth). They can take diverse shapes, as the mountains protectors (or Ñen-winkul) do, who sometimes can be seen as clouds crowning the summits, looking over the visitors who come to their domains.
