A Man's Castle Is His...Uh... Castle

            Before the turn of the 20th Century, Brush Park was THE place to live in Detroit. More than 30 Mansions, the size of the one above, were surrounded by over 180 homes - no 2 were the same. During World War I the mansions , as they could no longer be afforded, were divided up into mutli-family dwellings, with 8 -12 families living in these structures. Several have been renovated and still serve the purpose of a multi-family dwelling, and to be frank are absolutely beautiful. 

This one no longer stands. It caught fire a few years back - demolition started 3 days later and after 1 week you couldn't tell this building ever stood there. Which might be a record for the fastest demolition in this area. .
