Water Lily Abstract - a photo on Flickriver

An abstract image of a water lily blossom taken at the University of Texas Turtle Pond in Austin. This was taken during last Saturday's World Wide Photo Walk in Austin. I shot a lot of HDR but was keen to do something different by the time we got about 75% of the way round the route so switched into abstract mode.

This show was taken from a tripod with the 70-300mm zoom, ISO cranked down to Lo-1 (100), the lens stopped down as far as it would go and a polarizer on the lens to slow my shutter speed as much as possible. I then zoomed the lens during the exposure to give the smearing effect. In Lightroom, I cropped the image to get the centre of motion away from the centre of the frame and mucked with the colours a bit.
