Northbound MARC Local At Bowie - a photo on Flickriver

            A northbound MARC local with AEM7 #4903 pushing on the rear, passes the out of service Bowie Interlocking tower at Bowie MD sometime in May 1992. A year later the Bowie tower, along with the freight depot and the southbound passenger shelter, would be relocated to the site immediately behind the tower here in this photograph becoming the Bowie Railroad Museum. 
Note the leaning catenary pole on the far left background which was caused by a Conrail freight train derailment a few years earlier. After the tower was moved, the Chestnut St overpass in the background was replaced by a more modern and wider bridge on a slightly different alignment which was more perpendicular to the Amtrak main. During the construction, the leaning catenary support pole was replaced.
