A Brush with the 70s - a photo on Flickriver

            In the days when Severn Tunnel Junction used to hold more than a bit of interest for the rail-fan, class 47 no. 47121 passes through the station hauling twelve Mark 1s and a destination that's presumably somewhere in the north of England given that it's taking the Gloucester route.

There's no shortage of freight in the yard and, being a Saturday, there are quite a few locomotives resting up for the weekend on the stabling point - by my reckoning Peaks, Class 47s, class 31, class 37s with a class 08 shunter here and there. 

Regards the car train, they look like Ford Escort vans and saloons to me, but I'll be happy to be corrected. There also looks like there might be a rake of Presflo wagons in the far distance, above the roof of the class 31.
