A Father’s Journey - a photo on Flickriver

            Prologue

Mara’s mission to the Shadow Academy had been a success. She had left under the cover of a cargo pilot moving prototype tech to the frontlines of the Imperial advances in the colonies. Bannon had reactivated his imperial credentials, and had set the rendezvous point to an old Separatist arms facility in the industrial district of Castell.

Raath put down his helmet on a crate next to the console, and walked towards the senator.

“You’re doing the right thing Senator!” Raath tried his best to sound friendly, but diplomacy wasn’t his strong suit.

The senator shook his head. “Haven’t you heard?” The senator’s words were a sad whisper. “The general is one of you! He’s chosen sides! These men, this facility. It was always Imperial!”

Raath looked perplexed. This was easier than expected. Castell really belonged to the Imperial loyalists. “What about you Senator?” Raath asked. “Where is your allegiance?” He knew the answer didn’t matter. The senator would be imprisoned anyway. 

After a few hours, the Imperial Guards had cleared out the facility. Raath picked up his comms and opened a secure channel. “Commander. You’re clear.”
