Baby Boomers - All Born 2011 - Arizona Game & Fish 2014 Calendar Image

I was looking thru my Pronghorn stock and came across this image taken in the summer of 2012. It never really dawned on me that I captured an amazing image - so I'm sitting here thinking how in the world did I get 7 bucks in the same frame and all born the same summer...now to me that is amazing.

The Pronghorn Antelope population in Northern Arizona is over 10,000 strong, that doesn't seem like a lot but they are crammed into the North West Grasslands, which runs South of the Grand Canyon to like Prescott Valley at the West-Southern border. - see map link for more detail. View Larger Map

The Arizona Game & Fish Department will transplant many Pronghorn from the Northern Grasslands to the Sky Island Grasslands in the South Eastern corner of Arizona where the offspring is being overrun by predators...mainly coyotes. This image was taken on 2011, September 1st 7:14 AM - close to the Border Line of Prescott and Chino Valley, Arizona. I stopped my lens down just a little to f/6.3 as I wanted to increase my DOF so I could maintain a good focus on the Antelope in both the foreground and background. I use a Low ISO because my Sony A700 does not handle the higher ISO numbers well...the grain is horrible at ISO 200, which makes it harder for me to get the extreme detail that I demand of my work.
