Flickriver

            At first glance, these weeds seem "foolish." 
They grow in a little bit of moist dirt mixed into asphalt at the base of a wall. 
Right now, on June 3rd, it Is a warm, wet, sheltered spot. However, as the 
days grow warmer,and their little patch dries up, the weeds will die! 

But wait. They actually have evolved a clever strategy. 
CLICK & LOOK CLOSE at the weeds on the left and far right. 
It is only June 3rd, here in the north, and they already have flowers.
The flowers will soon yield seeds.

As the plants die, the seeds will drop down to the ground..
They will be ready to grow next spring!

I see these weeds make this cycle every year. 
It is a nice little example of  how nature works. 
Survival of the smartest. 
Do the best you can with what you have.
