Miss Blue & Her Bug - a photo on Flickriver

(NOT a group. it's just my sub-caption for closeup photos that I post on Mondays)

Miss Blue is one of the diligent little "shutter people" who secure window shutters in Alsace FR and elsewhere. I did not notice that she had a bug (kind unknown) on her head until I started to edit her photo today.

NB1 - IMO shutter people are a little androgynous. This seems partly because they are probably cast using old and/or cheap moulds that do not produce sharply-defined facial contours. Or maybe their look is an artisanal statement of some kind...😮

NB2 - I think shutter people are cast from "pot metals." They are "sweep up the foundry" alloys with low melting points and no fixed composition. Usually, they contain a lot of zinc because of its low melting point. Using low-melting scrap-metal alloys makes producing little metal castings cheap and fast. For more, see:
