In The Studio - Lamb and Monkey - a photo on Flickriver

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to look around Peter Jones' studio in East London - he paints these amazingly soulful portaits of battered and maimed Steiff monkeys. I think they're beautiful.

Luckily I had a camera with me and Peter let me take some shots of the studios...I must admit that I got quite wistful for my days at art school, spent in whitewashed rooms heavy with the smell of turpentine and linseed.

Did surprisingly well, handholding these shots in dim rooms with only 100iso film - my OM2000 is one of my favourite cameras being light enough and small enough to take everywhere. Not a true Olympus OM - it's really a cheap, rebadged Cosina - but it does take the fantastic Zuiko lenses which give black and white a beautiful tonality.

This one's just a preview, there's a load more to come!
