            The Chili Pepper in Orange, California, on November 11, 2018.  This Mexican restaurant was always busy, and maintained an immaculate appearance both inside and out.  There was never any neon that was flickering or burnt out, no worn paint, no non-operating light bulbs, no litter, and always festive holiday decorations.  We often saw their employees heading home in the evenings, wearing their sharp Chili Pepper shirts with pride.  It was always a joy to pass by, particularly after dark.  Sadly, this business closed for the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 and, not long after, a for sale sign appeared, ending 47 years of serving meals.
