New Windbreak at Ames Park - a photo on Flickriver

            You can see the structural differences between the old windbreak and this new one. The old one is the last pic in my photo stream. This one is boxier, and the corners aren't rounded. the other had a top that looked to be all one piece with the sides. This one is like a separate top and to me, has more the look of something you'd find as a memorial in a cemetery! That actually works for me, since the river just to the right of this windbreak is where I released my mother's ashes a year after she died in 2008. The entire park is a memorial to my Mom for me!

Even though the basic structure of the windbreak has changed, they used the original Aztec faces on the corners and the wording to do the new piece and it is still close enough to the original to give a deep nod to the past while preserving that past for the future.
