La Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de la Encarnación es la catedral de Málaga, España. Situada enfrente de la plaza del Obispo, el templo es considerado una de las joyas renacentistas más valiosas de Andalucía. Se encuentra dentro de los límites que marcaba la desaparecida muralla árabe sobre el solar de la primitiva mezquita aljama, el lugar donde los Reyes Católicos Isabel y Fernando ordenaron erigir un templo cristiano a los pocos días de conquistar la ciudad en 1487.
Su proceso constructivo comenzó en 1528 y finalizó en 1782 aunque de forma inconclusa. Las originarias trazas, de estilo Gótico, derivaron en un proyecto renacentista en cuyos planos participaron Diego de Siloé y Andrés de Vandelvira. La catedral es una síntesis de estilos arquitectónicos entre los que prevalece el Renacimiento sobre el primer Gótico de la antigua fábrica y los elementos barrocos añadidos desde principios del siglo XVIII.

The Holy Church Cathedral Basilica de la Encarnación is the cathedral of Malaga, Spain. Located in front of the Plaza del Obispo, the temple is considered one of the most valuable Renaissance jewels in Andalusia. It is within the limits that marked the missing Arab wall on the site of the primitive Mosque aljama, the place where the Catholic Kings Isabel and Fernando ordered to erect a Christian temple a few days after conquering the city in 1487.
Its constructive process began in 1528 and ended in 1782, although unfinished. The original traces, of Gothic style, derived in a Renaissance project in whose plans participated Diego de Siloé and Andrés de Vandelvira. The cathedral is a synthesis of architectural styles between which the Renaissance prevails over the first Gothic of the old factory and the Baroque elements added since the beginning of the 18th century.
