The Duke of Sutherland's Private Saloon No.57A

            The Duke of Sutherland's Private Saloon No.57A, designed by C.A. Park of the LNWR and built by at Wolverton, 1899. In LNWR plum & spilt milk livery. At the National Railway Museum York, 09/10. Fitted with day and night-time accommodation, it was used mainly to transport the Duke, mainly between London and Scotland, until the early days of British Railways in 1948. The LNWR Royal Train built for King Edward VII was influenced by this coach's design.
