IMG_6840_DPP[Club Flash] - a photo on Flickriver

I re-rendered this favorite of mine. I used the Canon Picture Style I created and named [Club Flash] to render it this time (Canon dslr's come with Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful, and Monochrome Picture Styles already loaded).

A user can create their own Canon Picture Style and upload it to a camera using Canon's EOS Utility application.

This picture style is designed to make women look pretty in the varied light of a nightclub when shot with a flash. To make it, I opened a group portrait I had taken in a dark nightclub. The portrait was of four young women: one Black, one Khmer, one White, and one Mexican (the women pictured here are probably Mexican).

I sampled the colors in each face and tweaked the colors until all four women in the shot had beautiful looking skin. The idea was to have a Picture Style that makes a woman of any race look great. I'm pretty happy with it. The only problem is, it tends to make guys look too pretty, especially the heavy little gangstas. Hahah! Oh well, the night club pictures I take are meant to make the subjects happy, and I always say, make the girls look good and everybody's happy.

You can use a Picture Style to take in-camera JPGs and Raw images and to render Raw images (.CR2 files) in Canon's Digital Photo Professional.
