E39 BMW M5 ; light painting - a photo on Flickriver

Trying to get back in the groove with some automotive work, so I went out with my buddy Brett (who's avidly trying to get into canon gear, lolz) in the freezing night around 9pm to try and work on some light painting. I WILL tell you, it's much more difficult than you think it is.

The 5 second exposure lit the ground and background, then the car was lit with multiple passes holding the light stick (acquired from harbor freight...this one to be exact WHICH has a cig lighter adapter as well, winning! www.harborfreight.com/rechargeable-led-work-light-with-ma... ). I did find that it's best to try and block the light from the camera as to not overlap some of the paint.

This show I believe was done in 5 layers, the ground /background, the side of the car, the wheel, the front bumper, and the hood, then all were masked and layered in. This was my first attempt so it took a bit longer than expected, and I'm still ironing out the kinks. I really want that awesome reflection in the windows, but again this was my first time.
