Portland Head Light After Sunset - a photo on Flickriver

By the time the girls and I got to Portland Head Light last evening, the Earth had spun so that the sun disappeared below the western horizon. For a couple of precious minutes the remaining photons were interacting with the clouds to create some brilliant colors in the sky.

The reduced light allowed me to significantly slow the shutter to create a nice smooth effect on the ocean surface.
