            "You deserve a break today
So get up and get away..."
Cori-Elaina sang the words of an old jingle for hamburgers as she sat down to enjoy her own burger and milkshake. Yet, just as she picked up her shake, she felt the presence of a certain someone...
 
"I know what you were thinking, Barkley," Cori said to the family dog. "After I unwrapped the burger, you could smell the aroma with your special dog-sniffing superpowers and thought, 'Where's the beef?'"
 
"At least you're not jumping up to try to take food anymore," she continued. "But if you want to eat, you just have to go over to your own bowl and eat dog food that's good for you. Okay?"
 
For a minute, Barkley stood still, transfixed by the mesmerizing allure of the hamburger. Yet, eventually, he decided to "get up and get away": He understood that he might as well eat the dog food in his bowl; after all, if he could talk, he would have to admit that it tasted as good as a burger.
