Giant Sphinx of Newfoundland - a photo on Flickriver

            Apparently it was a good year for icebergs (according to the locals). The bay at Twillingate "catches" them as they float south from Greenland. In the few days we were there, we watched this one melt, changing its look considerably. Unlike other landscapes that might be the same for everyone within a lifetime, icebergs are definitely ephemeral. 

It is fun to imagine seeing something else in the ice. This one reminds me of the Giant Sphinx of Giza. 

I did a long exposure to smooth out the waves.
