Harper's Brook near Aldwinkle, Northamptonshire

            The River Nene rises from three sources in Northamptonshire and is the tenth longest river in the United Kingdom as well as being the slowest flowing. It has a number of tributaries including Harper's Brook (seen here). Following a period of heavy rainfall the water is flowing quickly and there is a danger of flooding. 

Harper's Brook has its source just north of Desborough, and then meanders across Northamptonshire via the southern edge of Corby, and passing the pretty villages of Stanion, Brigstock, Sudborough and Lowick before joining the River Nene just to the east of Aldwinkle, a few hundred yards downstream from here.
