The Worlds Below

            My Lego Explorers crew under the waves, various locations in Europe. The crew goes around exploring and researching the worlds below whenever the opportunity arises, I go with them assigned to document their missions.

The underwater Lego world has been a most joyous discovery. Like the blizzards and the fogs before this, I have been thrilled to find new aestethics for these little guys. I have not deviated from my Star Wars world that much over the years, but with these Lego City Deep Sea Explorers sets I have found it easy. The clear wildwaters aren't the easiest to find however, but whenever I get to travel a bit I try. This summer was Finland only.

Top left image is from a meltwater pool on top of the Saana fjell in the Finnish Lapland right next to the Swedish and Norwegian border. A beautiful barren landscape. 2018.

Top right is a brook near Nattas fjells in eastern Lapland. It looked modest but once I got a glimpse of it under the surface, the golden colours attracted me enough to give it a go. It was freezing cold, I didn't make it to the top of the fjell due to snowfall, but stopped to take this on the way out. 2018.

Bottom left from Kevo in Lapland. A small brook of freezing cold meltwater near a beautiful lagoon in the middle of nowhere. A magical place, truly! 2017.

Bottom right, one of many, many photos I shot in the Mediterranean sea on the Island of Ponza. A beautiful place which took my breath away, I loved it! I wish I could go there again some day. I chose this particular image from that set in order to have four different divers in this selection. 2016.
