A CP 450 in the Ria Formosa - a photo on Flickriver

A CP 450 series DMU (UDD in CP parlance: Unidade Dupla Diesel) passes the Salinas after leaving Olhão. From the BG, it's apparent that the northern part of the Sotavento is hilly.

The Comboios de Portugal 450s were built in 1965 and 1966 (then called the 400 series) and renovated in 1999 by SOREFAME. They are equipped with two 14 L 6-cylinder Cummins NTA 855 - R3 diesel engines (Total output: 2 x350 kW).
