Entrance to the Blue Grotto - a photo on Flickriver

            Taken in 1975.

You could walk down the cliff to the entrance of the Blue Grotto in Capri -- as those people on the right have done -- but most people (like us) came by boat. We bought tickets for a boat that took us to the entrance, but then we had to buy two more for the boat that actually took us inside. (They may also have charged us an entrance fee.) And on top of that, the boatman practically demanded a tip -- and told us exactly how "generous" he expected us to be. (Very.)
