While sitting at the top of Glastonbury Tor I saw a young lady approaching with eye catching hair. She was with two young men. By the time I decided that I needed to ask if I could take her photo one of the young men had gone for a walk around and she was sitting with the other lad. They were about 5 feet apart and I walked up and stood between them, asked the young lady if she minded if I took her photo. I think that she said no but meant no she didn't mind as her manner clearly indicated that she was happy for me to take her photo. I gave her my card, introduced myself and explained a bit about the 100 strangers project.

We chatted for a while when I realised that I had already forgotten her name and the name of the chap. I got my little note pad out and apologised. Brittany took the pad and my pen and wrote her name for me. Maybe I should have remembered as she had an American accent. We had a little discussion around her name – she told me that it is quite common where she comes from – Like Andrew is common in the UK.

Brittany told me that she is often photographed by people that she doesn't know and conversely that she also desired to photograph strangers sometimes. She liked my card and the project as it tended to give some legitimacy to photographing strangers.

Brittany does Tarot. She has done this in Central Park, NY (where she comes from) and in London. Spreading a blanket on the ground she puts up a sign offering to do readings for free or donations. Sometimes a crowd has gathered and folk have to wait their turn. She would like to make a living from this and would like to set up a website.

The two lads were taking her back to London. Brittany would like to go back to NY for her Dad's 50th birthday but wasn't sure if she would be able to because of the cost of the flight.

It is not just spiritual Glastonbury that makes the UK attractive to Brittany; there is also a man that she loves. He lives in the Midlands and loves her too.
