Shooter's Hill è un quartiere nel sud est di Londra. Con un'altezza di 132 metri, è il punto più alto del distretto di Greenwich e uno dei punti più alti di Londra (e con la vista migliore!). Ci sono molte associazioni letterarie con questo posto. Il racconto di “le due città” di Charles Dickens si apre con Jarvis Lorry, passeggero della carrozza della posta di Dover, che "attraversa Shooter's Hill". Il nome Shooter's Hill è menzionato anche in Dracula di Bram Stoker e in "La guerra dei mondi" di H.G. Wells. Nel romanzo grafico V for Vendetta, il personaggio Evey Hammond descrive la sua infanzia trascorsa in Shooter's Hill.

Shooter's Hill is a district in South East London . With a height of 132 metres, it is the highest point in the Borough of Greenwich and one of the highest points in London (and with the best view!). There are many literary associations with this place.  As the narrative of Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities opens, Mr. Jarvis Lorry is a passenger in the Dover mail coach, "lumbering up Shooter's Hill". The name Shooter's Hill is also mentioned in Bram Stoker's Dracula  and also in H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. In the graphic novel V for Vendetta , the character Evey Hammond describes her childhood, spent on Shooter's Hill.
