Living in London, it's pretty tricky to get a good view of the stars at night, and to further complicate matters, in South East London, the sky is full of planes heading to/from Gatwick.
Nevertheless you have to work with what you've got. I would have had to drive an hour out of London to get away from the light pollution, so that was out. As it was, I was up at 6am to get this shot, as you can see dawn creeping in from the left (East) and night remaining to the right (West). This was likely to be the only night of clear skies all week, so I had to get something.
Shot at Oxleas Meadow on Shooters Hill (perhaps the highest point in London), looking roughly south.
