La Catedral de la Almudena
Construida en el emplazamiento de una antigua mezquita, toma su nombre de la palabra árabe al-mudayna, que significa "ciudadela". La catedral está ubicada en el centro histórico de la ciudad de Madrid; la fachada principal se encuentra frente al Palacio Real, mientras que la fachada del crucero mira hacia la calle de Bailén y el acceso a la cripta se realiza por la cuesta de la Vega, al final de la calle Mayor.

The Almudena Cathedral
Built on the site of an old mosque, it takes its name from the Arabic word al-mudayna, which means "citadel". The cathedral is located in the historical center of the city of Madrid; the main façade is in front of the Royal Palace, while the façade of the transept faces Bailén street and access to the crypt is via the Vega slope, at the end of Calle Mayor.
