118 anni di traversate nello Stretto di Messina

Ricorre oggi il 118° anniversario del traghettamento ferroviario nello Stretto di Messina. Alle ore 13:30 del 1° novembre 1899, la Nave Cariddi , secondo dei due piropontoni costruiti nel 1896, inaugurò il servizio di traghettamento dei rotabili ferroviari imbarcando 5 carri merci. Iniziò quel giorno una storia che continua ancora oggi.

It is today the 118th anniversary of the railway ferry in the Strait of Messina. At 13:30 on November 1, 1899, Cariddi Ship, the second of the two ships built in 1896, inaugurated the railroad cargo service by embarking on 5 freight wagons. That day began a story that continues today.
