ON MY PATCH - a photo on Flickriver

ON MY PATCH

1054 Western Governor heads away from Plymouth station on 20-4-76. In the foreground is the old LSWR track bed, the train only just having passed the site of Devonport Junction.
The train is 09.30 Paddington to Penzance.
The reason why it has meaning for me is that I was a social work student in Devonport in the mid to late 70's and I frequently walked over the bridge in the picture. Most of my surviving pictures from this period are now owned by Martin Loader so you may see other photos on his 'secondary' website www.hondawanderer.co.uk/

The photo is taken by Anthony Coombes an excellent Devon photographer.
I have copyright for this transparency which certainly has the colour and texture of classic Agfa though it is not in it's original frame. A bit of work in photoshop has improved it.
As a general rule I only purchase pictures which are of some relevance to my journey through life i.e. that I know the location and/or the loco and it has some meaning to me.
