            View upstream, November 2013. Note the round pieces (approx. 0.3-0.6 metre diameter) of "pancake ice" in the wedge-shaped embayments along the frozen shoreline. (Jostling together of these tiny ice floe pieces rounds off their corners, producing the quasi-circular forms.) Large gravel (cobbles, boulders) is visible in the water to the right.
