Cumbria Easter Rally - Kirkby Stephen

            This not very good snap shot shows a seen on the A685 in the town centre of Kirkby Stephen during the Cumbria Easter Rally, on 16/04/2022. This well attended event was returning after a three year hiatus due to you know what. Heading away from the camera is preserved Badgerline, 2098, PWS492S, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 Express bodied Leyland Leopard PSU3E/4R. This smart Leopard was new to Bristol Omnibus Co.(2188) and originally fitted with a Plaxton Supreme Express body delivered registered OWS178R. Re-bodied with the Paramount, in 09/1983, after a serious fire, it was e-registered VJT738, in 06/1985, but has now reverted to it's original operational reg. Passing to Badgerline in 1986 and in whose livery it has been restored in, it is seen here when operating a heritage service from Grand Prix Coaches, Brough, to Kirkby Stephen(West) Station, while heading in the opposite direction is preserved Stagecoach Midland Red(South), 202, M202LHP, one of the ubiquitous Alexander PS bodied Volvo B10M-55s that were mainly synonymous with Stagecoach Holdings companies. New to Stagecoach Midland Red(South), in 05/1995, and latterly with Howards Travel Group/Springfield Bus & Coach, Runcorn, this smart B10M is now fully restored back to Stagecoach 'stripes' livery. © Peter Steel 2022.
