GP38 7905 was part of a small group (7904-7907) of extended cab, non dynamic brake, mechanical dual control GP38's (1 stand with long levers that extend to other side) that were ordered new in 1971 by Penn Central.

Some often confuse these with the PRSL 38's that CR inherited. 7905 is seen here in Newark on October 6th. 1986.
