Bonsall Village. Derbyshire - a photo on Flickriver

            Bonsall Village.
An attractive, historic former lead-mining village set in steep-sided converging limestone dales. Located in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District. The civil parish population, including Brightgate and Horse Dale, was 775 at the 2001 Census, increasing to 803 at the 2011 Census. In the sloping market square is the unusual 17th century cross, set on top of 13 circular stone steps. The ancient King's Head is a notable building in the Market Place, while the Barley Mow is another traditional pub worth finding. Bonsall has also attracted much worldwide interest as a centre of paranormal activity. During July and August they have the eccentric Bonsall Hen Races attract many visitors. THe vilage is lined with pretty cottages, a couple of pubs and a tea room, this village sounds like one of the many picturesque places you'd come across in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales.
