            Enjoying the process

A few weeks ago I went for a leisurely stroll. My feet took me towards Buckie Braes.

Predictably I had my camera with me, but only with the lens attached to it (25mm). This I becoming a habit of mine.

I didn’t have any specific photos in mind. This is not surprising, given that I didn’t even plan a route before I left the house.

I noticed that the water level in the burn was quite low. So, I started to take a few shots. At this point, I remembered a point that James Popsys made in a video that I’d watched towards the end of November. He said that the process was more important than the output. So, we should enjoy the process of taking photos.

With this in mind, I set about exploring the stream. And, by ‘exploring the stream’, I mean standing in it as well as beside it, jumping across it, and sliding down muddy banks to get to certain locations. I had half an hour of ridiculous fun.

Since I wasn’t carrying any extra gear, all of the shots were hand-held (no tripod), and filter-less.

And, as a bonus, I’m quite pleased with some of the shots – like this one.
