It seems to be the norm that meeting people requires a lot of money or an invisible net, but I still feel something unnatural about it. Monks are doing their best to provide a safe and secure way to meet people without spending a lot of money.

Cooperation from many temples of the Myoshinji School of Rinzai Zen Buddhism

You might think that a temple group would be small in size or that it is only for local people, but the Kichienkai is run by more than 1,000 Rinzai temples in each region of the Myoshinji School of Rinzai Zen Buddhism, which has 3,500 branch temples throughout Japan, so people from many different fields participate. Monks are not here for profit, but to ask themselves what they can do to help those in need, and to do so as monks are supposed to do.

■How old are the participants?
　Participants can be between 25 and 49 years old, but the largest number of participants are in their late 20s and 30s.

　On the day of the event, we will divide the age groups into upper and lower age groups in order to talk with people of similar ages.

　We will divide the party into groups of 20s to early 30s, late 30s to 40s.
Some groups will be divided into three generations, while others will be divided into two groups based on the average age of the participants.

■Are these gatherings limited to temple and Buddhism lovers?
　It is not limited. We have a variety of people, both men and women.
Rinzai-shu monks conduct these services in order to provide good matchmaking services at a reasonable cost to a wide range of people.
Although not limited to temple lovers, we hope that through our activities like this, you will feel closer to monks.

What is the process on the day of the event?

　Each time is a little different,
　Opening Ceremony (Prayer for a good marriage, talk) → → Buddhist experience 30 to 60 minutes (different each time, such as making Japanese sweets, zazen, vegetarian food, making prayer beads, etc.) →→

　→→Discourse time (5 minutes x number of people) →→Free discourse (may not be due to time constraints) →→Application time →→Closing ceremony (talk)

　

　We plan each event in the hope that people will make a connection not only with marriage life, but also with a good way of life.

■Is it possible to register and participate online?

　For member registration, you will meet with us once and complete the registration process using your own phone.
This is not an interview, but it will give you peace of mind that a monk will meet with all of you once to accept your registration.

How can I participate or register for the meeting?

　Please see Membership Registration. Whenever there is an opening for the next meeting, you can register for the next meeting according to the details of the opening period.
We do not accept any registrations outside of the application period. If there is no announcement, please wait until the next announcement.

■Do you exchange contact information when you are both in love?

　It is difficult to know everything about the other person in about 5 minutes and have a mutual love.

■How many times a year do you hold this event?

　Please consider that there are about 3 to 4 times a year in each area. Please understand that the monks are preparing for the service in their spare time between their regular duties.
