Aerolite - a photo on Flickriver

Aerolite

            North Eastern Railway 2-2-4T "Aerolite" on display in York Railway Museum on 27th October 2013. Aerolite was originally built n 1869 but subsequent rebuildings, the last in 1902, radically altered the locomotive and so it is hard to claim that it really is of 1869 vintage. It was latterly numbered 66 and withdrawn from service in 1933 and preserved. It was always used on special duties, primarily hauling the North Eatern Railway's Mechanical Director'sinspection  saloon.
