Symposion – XXXIV. Erotic Scene - a photo on Flickriver

A youth with the lower part of his body draped in a mantel is reclining on a kline. He raises his right hand holding a kylix: he is ready to play kottabos. An ephebe is reclining to his feet on the same kline, and the youth puts his right leg round his body. The youth bends towards him, leaning his left hand on the ephebe’s head.
The cup inner surface is corroded. According to some scholars, inside the cup, the inscription [Ε]πιδρομος [κ]αλος. can be read.
