spring in the city from the passenger's seat

            Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, taken last spring from the 12:10pm Beenleigh express looking at Brisbane city over the William Jolly Bridge.

The bridge is a steel frame arch bridge with an unusual concrete veneer.   It was designed by local engineer AE Harding Frew and built by Brisbane construction firms MR Hornibrook and Evans Deakin between 1928 and 1932. The project provided work during the Great Depression. It was opened to traffic on 30 March 1932 by Sir John Goodwin, the Governor of Queensland. The bridge was named after William Jolly, Brisbane's first Lord Mayor.
