From Kilmuir to Bornesketaig on Velvia Film

            I've had a kind of love hate relationship with Velvia film for years. It's very saturated and contrasty and I always seem to have difficulty controlling the results. It's so easy to go completely over the top with it and spoil a picture. It's much easier to start with, for example, a flatter colour negative and digitally add contrast and saturation as necessary. I've never found trying to de-tune Velvia all that easy.

Recently I was looking to give my Leicaflex SL2 an outing and the only colour film I had left was Velvia 100 so here are the results. They're not the sharpest scans I've ever seen and I'll leave the viewers to make their mind up about the colours. Apologies for repeating some well worn views but at least it gives you something to look at for comparison.

All of these images were taken with the 60mm f2.8 Elmarit lens.
