Pirano è un borgo veramente suggestivo che si sviluppa su un promontorio roccioso nella piccola porzione di Istria in territorio sloveno. La tradizione vuole che sia stata fondata dagli esuli provenienti da Aquileia dopo la distruzione della città romana a opera del re unno Attila. 
Il suo centro storico è un esteso labirinto di stretti vicoli che formano una rete stradale capillare in cui ci si può perdere ammagliati dalla bellezza del paesaggio e degli edifici. Le case a ridosso l’una all’altra si distendono collegando la Piazza Tartini all’intero tratto costiero, offrendo in certi tratti anche magnifici panorami sul mare.

UNDERGROUND IN THE HISTORICAL CENTER

Piran is a truly suggestive village that develops on a rocky promontory in the small portion of Istria in Slovenian territory. Tradition has it that it was founded by exiles from Aquileia after the destruction of the Roman city by the Hun king Attila.
Its historic center is an extensive labyrinth of narrow alleys that form a capillary road network where you can get lost in the beauty of the landscape and buildings. The houses close to each other stretch out, connecting Piazza Tartini to the entire coastal stretch, offering in some places also magnificent views of the sea.
