            OGGI E' LA GIORNATA MONDIALE DELL'ALBERO.

Il 21 novembre di ogni anno si celebra in Italia la Giornata mondiale degli Alberi, per onorare e valorizzare le foreste e i boschi del nostro Paese e per promuovere politiche di riduzione degli effetti nocivi delle emissioni, di protezione del suolo e incentivazione di spazi verdi nelle nostre città.
In Italia in 5 anni +31,7% di foreste, più che negli altri paesi europei.
Una grave minaccia pone a rischio le nostre foreste: gli incendi boschivi che causano una perdita di biodiversità genetica, il rilascio e immissione in atmosfera di quantità enormi di anidride carbonica e altri gas serra. Secondo i dati dell’European Forest Fire Information System (Effis), pubblicati nel mese di agosto, dall’inizio dell’anno nella nostra Penisola sono bruciati 102.933 ettari di terreno, un’area grande quanto 140mila campi da calcio. La situazione, dal mese di agosto, è andata peggiorando a causa dei continui incendi che hanno colpito la penisola ed in particolare il sud Italia.
