LA CITTA' IDEALE.

            TREVISO. CHIESA DI SANT'AGOSTINO.

La chiesa di sant'Agostino si trova nella omonima via della città, detta un tempo Via Ungaresca perché conduceva verso le regioni nord-orientali. La Chiesa di sant'Agostino è il solo esempio che si è conservato in città di edificio sacro in stile barocco ad aula centrale ellittica. L'edificio fu eretto verso la metà del Settecento su disegno del Padre Francesco Vecelli. Costui, che apparteneva al Collegio dei Chierici Regolari Somaschi originari del bergamasco, aveva già partecipato alla progettazione di biblioteche veneziane e di altre chiese.
Nella chiesa di Sant'Agostino la domenica si officia la messa in altre lingue per comunità straniere, sempre cattoliche e dove si svolge anche la funzione greco-ortodossa della comunità moldava. 

ANTICIPO, per chi dovesse notare l'alone bianco sopra la chiesa,che non è un riflesso od un difetto di lente ma trattasi di nuvole....è venuta così,naturalmente.
