A mixture of styles in brickwork. - a photo on Flickriver

            Lichfield Street bridge crosses the Caldon canal close to Hanley town centre in the Potteries.
In the background can be seen the Eastwood Works of Emma Bridgewater Pottery. Built in 1883 by Charles Meakin and operated in the Meakin family until 1958, this is one of the few successful pottery businesses left in Stoke-on-Trent.
The house in the foreground is part of a reasonably new, if small estate, associated with Waterside redevelopment of the old Johnson Brothers and Meakins potbanks, and surrounding industrial sites.
