Great Spotted Woodpecker - a photo on Flickriver

            A trip to Worcestershire mid April to hopefully photograph a Kestrel.

Was not expecting much but turned out quite a good day despite very cold Northerly winds and sunny intervals.

A Great Spotted Woodpecker visits a nearby bird feeder.

The Great Spotted Woodpecker is a medium-sized woodpecker with pied black and white plumage and a red patch on the lower belly. Males and young birds also have red markings on the neck or head.
