            “Lefty Feep had done time before.  But this was a far different type of time – without bars!  The wrong answer sent Lefty into the future.  The right questions got him out.” [Prologue]

“I push myself out of this metal cucumber [his time machine], just in time to see an unlovely gorilla.” [Image caption]

“Pardon me, buddy,” limps the gorilla. “You got a match?”

“How can it be possible?’ I mutter.  “A talking ape. Why?”

“Why?” echoes the ape. “I talk because I have a human brain in an ape’s body.  My name is Andy the Anthropoid . . .”

[Note: The ape has just stepped out of Dan Druff's Barber Shop where he got his fur singed.  Some future!  Certainly, not Pierre Boulle's version of "Planet of the Apes."]
