Whitchurch Hampshire - a photo on Flickriver

            This photograph was taken last summer from the grounds of Whitchurch Silk Mill in Hampshire. 

I thought the location was superb alongside the River Test – one of the finest chalk streams in the world renowned for crystal clear waters and trout fishing. Its richness of flora and fauna enables it to be designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The house has its own wooden gated bridge across the river leading into the grounds of the mill and although the brickwork is similar to both buildings, I cannot find any other connection. The mill was constructed in 1800 and initially I thought perhaps the house may have been the home of the mill owner. I may be right; I may be wrong!
