Stone-faced Irony

            January 20th is inauguration day in the United States, and today marks the first anniversary of the current president's occupation of that office.  Ironically, this same president and congress have somehow managed to "celebrate" this very day by not being able to come to agreement on a budget, and the federal government is now shut down.  And what's doubly ironic, is that this remarkably timed shutdown means that if you want to go see so many of our fabulous national and historic wonders, such as this particular iconic celebration of the Presidency itself – Mt. Rushmore – you may very well be out of luck, or at least have the experience drastically curtailed by closures and cutbacks of all but the most essential services.
