Memorial to Thomas Sayer - d1893.
 
Hemming was born in Bristol, the son of an army officer. He trained as an architect in Edinburgh before becoming a pupil of Clayton & Bell. He established his own firm in 1883 on Marylebone Road in London. It continued as AO Hemming & Co until about 1940.
